dbExpress is a database-independent layer that defines a common interface to provide fast access to SQL database servers. For each supported server, dbExpress provides a driver as an independent library that implements the common dbExpress interfaces for processing queries and stored procedures. As a thin and simple data-access layer, dbExpress provides high performance database connectivity and is easy to deploy.

dbExpress driver for PostgreSQL provides direct high performance access to PostgreSQL database server. It directly connects to the server without using PostgreSQL client software. The driver supports PostgreSQL server versions since 7.1 up to 9.0.

Windows 8 estimates: 500 million users in 2013

Microsoft expects to launch a new wave of optimism with Windows 8. In a recent statement, Steve Ballmer, chief executive at Microsoft, estimates that Windows 8 will reach a total of about 500 million users by the end of 2013.
